What we collect, what we do not, and who else is involved when you read this site.

The short version
- We do not ask you to create an account, and there is nothing to log in to.
- We do not run a mailing list or send marketing email.
- We collect aggregate analytics about which pages are read, through Google Analytics 4.
- If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you send, and we use them only to reply.
- Affiliate links send you to Amazon, which sets its own cookies once you arrive there.
- We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone for marketing.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Aggregate analytics (pages viewed, approximate location, device type, referrer) | To understand which pages readers find useful, so we build more of what helps and fix what does not | Held by Google Analytics under its own retention settings |
| Interaction events (clicks on a product link, contact form submissions, CTA clicks) | To see which recommendations readers act on, which is how we judge whether a page works | As above |
| Contact form content (name, email, subject, message) | To read and reply to your message. Nothing else — it is not added to any list | Kept in the inbox it arrives in, for as long as the correspondence is useful |
| Server request data (IP address, timestamp) | Processed transiently by our hosting provider to serve pages and rate-limit contact form abuse | Not stored by us; the rate-limit counter is in memory and resets |
We do not collect payment information, because nothing is sold on this site. We do not collect information about children — the site is written for adults buying products for children, and it is not directed at children.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure which pages are read and which links are clicked. It sets cookies and reports aggregate data, and it is the only analytics tool on the site.
We use it to answer questions like which guides readers actually finish and which recommendations they act on. We do not use it to build advertising profiles, we do not run remarketing, and we do not attempt to identify individual readers.
If you would rather not be measured, a tracking-blocker extension, your browser's do-not-track or anti-tracking settings, or Google's own Analytics opt-out browser add-on all work. The site functions identically with analytics blocked — nothing here depends on it.
Affiliate links and third parties
Product links on this site go through a redirect on our own domain and then to Amazon with our Associates tracking identifier attached. Once you arrive at Amazon you are on their site under their privacy policy, and they set their own cookies to attribute any purchase.
We receive aggregate commission reporting from Amazon — what was bought and what we earned. We do not receive your name, address, payment details, or any identifying information about you, and we do not have a way to link a purchase back to an individual reader. How the links work is set out in the affiliate disclosure.
The third parties involved in running this site are our hosting provider (which serves the pages), Google (analytics), Amazon (affiliate links) and Microsoft (which delivers contact form email). We do not embed social media widgets, comment systems, chat widgets, heatmap tools or display advertising, all of which would add tracking to pages that do not need it.
Your choices and your rights
- Ask what we hold about you. In practice this is only contact form correspondence, since analytics data is aggregate and not linked to you.
- Ask us to delete your correspondence. Email us and we will remove it.
- Opt out of analytics using a browser blocker, anti-tracking settings, or Google's opt-out add-on.
- Read the site without contacting us at all — no part of it requires giving us anything.
To exercise any of these, email contact@buckleandbuggy.com. Depending on where you live you may have additional statutory rights over your personal information, and we will honor a request made under them.
Who is responsible, and changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the modified date at the top of this page changes with it. A change that affects what we collect or who we share it with will be described here rather than made silently.
